ASSISTED TRANSPORTATION FOR SENIORS.

One of our volunteer centre's goals is to harness the power of community volunteerism to help seniors stay in their own homes and maintain their independence for as long as possible.

Personal mobility is a critical factor - people lose their independence when they can no longer drive or access transportation to go shopping, banking, reach clinics or the many other services they need. Drive Happiness Seniors Assisted Transportation (www.drivehappiness.cacan help.

The St. Albert Volunteer Centre is proud to partner with Drive Happiness to help them expand their services into St. Albert and Sturgeon County (including Morinville, Legal, Bon Accord, Gibbons) to help our many seniors who may struggle to get to medical appointments, shop for groceries or attend social events with family and friends.

Drive Happiness assists eligible seniors residing in and around Edmonton by providing a low-cost seniors assisted transportation program. They coordinate volunteer drivers who donate their time and receive a small compensation for assistance with the cost of fuel.

The St. Albert Volunteer Centre connects community volunteers to local non-profits. We support the Drive Happiness program by providing volunteer recruitment assistance and promoting their services in our area.
