Brain Care Centre is a non-profit organization operating out of Edmonton area and Edson, Alberta. It provides programs and services to adults who have sustained acquired brain injuries, and their support systems. If you have sustained an acquired brain injury, we are here to help you work toward goals and rediscover your identity. We provide service coordination, occupational therapy, counselling, support groups, lifeskills workshops, and assisted device training.


Volunteers must be over the age of 18, and be willing to complete a Police Record Check.


Opportunities to volunteer include:

  • Leisure Companion: Leisure companions provide companionship, support and socialization to Brain Care Centre’s clients who are living with acquired brain injury. Activities may include playing card games, going for walks, reading, socializing, running errands, going to the gym, etc.
  • Special Events:  Volunteers provide all required support at Brain Care Centre’s special events and fundraising opportunities. All proceeds of these events go towards providing free services to persons living with traumatic brain injuries in Edmonton/Edson and area.
  • Office Reception Volunteer:  Volunteers assist the Office Coordinator to provide office reception at Brain Care Centre. This volunteer position is the face of the organization and requires someone with a passion for assisting persons’ living with disabilities.
