Gareth Jones Receives Stars of Alberta Volunteer Award

On December 5th, 2011, International Volunteer Day, Gareth Jones was among the 6 recipients of the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards. The former city councillor was nominated by our Director of Volunteer Centre Services, Pat Phelan.

Jones many volunteer activities include arts and culture, human services, fundraising and sports ad recreation. Jones has volunteered at least 100 hours every month for the last year. He has held volunteer positions with the St. Albert Rugby Club, Special Olympics, Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation, Alberta 55 Plus Winter Games, St. Albert Housing Society, St. Albert Senior Citizens’ Club and more.
